Sunday morning, April 15 2007; Raining and cool… a perfect day to sleep in and simply wait for summer weather… or open the 2007 EOTB off road season. With quite a few people just itching to get out on a trail run no matter what the weather, ten trucks gathered at our usual 9 a.m. spot, completed some paperwork and thanks to Jason and all his radios made sure everyone could communicate on the trail. Three trucks met at the Zellers/Loblaws parking lot in Bells' Corners: Trevor with friend Marc in Tevor's YJ, Jason with friends Marc and Jason (another EOTB member) in Jason's supercharged X, and me with my son Andrew and his friend Nick in my X. We discussed a little about geocaching and how to enter cache points into Trevor's Garmin 60CSx (very nice unit). We headed out at about 7pm, stopping at the Crappy Tire gas bar for some air and some snacks. (more…)

Well it had been raining for the last few day's and this morning was no different, I was hoping for at least a little let up in the rain, didn't happen. Cameron a friend of mine was back in town for a visit and we usually get together a pose and run a local trail. I had hoped to take him out to the Calabogie area but it being hunting season in that area we decided on a safer plan. The B&D trail is on the city limits sandwiched between the 401 and rail lines. When the weekend weather forecast consists of cloud and precipitation, there's no point staying home or heading off to the cottage - better off finding an activity that emulates the spirit of a Kia commercial. We had 11 trucks out on the Rusty Bat trail for an early spring run on Sunday April 9th. There was still plenty of snow on the ground in shady spots and on North-facing slopes. This made a normally relatively easy trail not quite so easy. (more…)

We set off for Lavant from Brockville at 9:15 am Sunday morning, stopping for the mandatory Gas and Tim's in Perth and made the trail head by 11:00 'ish am, thinking that the group would have been well into the trail, only to find them on mass at the trail head. Apparently they had been touring the area quite extensively in search for the trail head. Our luck! (more…)

We headed out from Camp EOTB around 12:00 with a convoy of 9 trucks including 1 Land Rover, 1 YJ, 1 XJ, 2 Rubicons and 4 TJs. We stopped off at Mumford's for some fuel and supplies then proceeded to the trailhead. (more…)

Thursday started off just right, good weather, 3 jeeps left bells corners at 0955hrs as planned. Enroute to Bobcaygeon via hwy 7 where we stopped at every Tim Horton's along the way. In Madoc, we met up with Peter and his family, and waited for Evan to catch up ( approx 20 minute Down time ), We then convoyed to Peterborough where we ran into the thunderstorms predicted for the area ( talk about cats and dogs ) We were able to pull over before the major rain storm hit the area, but my unde...

Sunday turned out to be a perfect day for the rally. We met in Bells Corners and launched the trucks 5 minutes apart. (more…)
