EOTB Civic Holiday Trailathon

Before the province loosened restrictions, the club had to make the difficult call to cancel Camp EOTB 2020. Since we could not run camp, but we can run trail runs, we thought we'd setup a jam-packed weekend of trail runs with a bit of a twist to make it a weekend to remember. We have scheduled 5 trail runs in two days. Don't worry, you'll have your Monday holiday to recover. You might finally get a chance to try out those trail lights and rock lights! Why Stay Off the Trails

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EOTB has been keeping our membership informed about what we are doing, but we haven't really articulated why. The focus of this post is to look beyond the formal regulations and consider other factors. Click here for details regarding our response and schedule changes. We're not going to get into a legal debate on how the Ontario Declaration of Emergency applies to off-roading. While it may be possible to go off-roading while complying with the...

2018 Constitutional Amendment – Changing the club’s fiscal year and membership periods

The club constitution specifies that the club's fiscal year runs from April 1st to March 31st and that memberships expire on March 31 of each year. The Board of Directors proposes that we change these provisions so that the club's fiscal year runs from January 1st to December 31st. Memberships would expire on December 31st. As explained below, this is a practical housekeeping measure to align the club's constitution with how the club is actually managed. In the opinion of the members of the B...

2017 Constitutional Amendments

Result of Vote on Constitutional Amendments Thanks to the participation of club members, the EOTB constitution has been amended. Amendments were made in three major areas: Elimination of club chapters: Chapters were created when the EOTB and the KAOS (the Kingston Area Offroad Society) merged in 2005. These amendments eliminate the chapter concept since it has not been used at all in the last several years and terms and conditions around chapters complicated the constitution, voting pro...

Our hosts, the Black Donald Trailer Park, were gracious as always, delivering wood and message by golf cart right to our sites and checking several times a day to see if we needed anything. T...

Spring Schedule Changes

Tuesday evening a few of us from EOTB and OJC went to the Gorge trailhead for a quick reccee to see firsthand what the road/trailhead is like. The road that leads to the trailhead is very soft and there is still some snow along the side of the road. Both OJC and EOTB have decided not to do trail runs at the Gorge this coming weekend. Instead EOTB will clean up Hwy 508 near Calabogie in our semi-annual Adopt-A-Road initiative. I just wanted to let everyone know ASAP so that they can adjust the...
