Cragacon: self-reliant travel on extreme trails when trips are multi-day where tent camping, wild (no facilities), is the only available accommodation. Regardless of what we drive on and where we sleep, cragacon is about the challenge, about exploring, about encounters with nature and with new obstacles. There will be many technical obstacles, which is the goal, but not the only goal.
Round Schooner Lake is an extension of the Crag Lake trail system. Turning to the west, this trail is a non-stop onslaught of obstacles with large rocks, tight turns and vehicle-punishing obstacles. While the trail is very challenging, the reward at the end is a stunning view overlooking Round Schooner Lake.
This is a multi-day event with limited enrollment that will include overnight camping and some hiking.
Primary Meeting Location: The Bogie General Store at 9:00am
Given the length of the trail, we will forego the usual meeting spot in Bells Corners and meet at The Bogie General Store at the intersection of Highways 508 and 511.
We will be leaving no later than 9:30am.
A lift, 33″ or larger tires, a winch and a tolerance for damage are required for this trail.
Please come to the meeting location fully fueled and ready to roll.
This is a members only run. If you wish to invite a non-member, please contact the trail leader to confirm that this event is suitable for your guest.
Please tune your CB to channel 4. No CB? Bring your FRS radio tuned to channel 4.
Since we will be camping, bring a tent, sleeping bag and enough food and water to sustain you for two full days. Bug spray and sunscreen may also be wise.
