Sullivan Lake is one of the newer sections of the Crag Lake trail network. Connecting with the Crag Lake Back Door, it is similarly rocky, tight featuring some large rock formations. As with Crag Lake, the trail leads to a lake which is a great spot for lunch and possibly a swim.
Plan for a full day as traveling the full length of the trail can be a lengthy process. The terrain is very rocky, with some tight areas through the trees and a few ledges and ravines to keep things interesting.
Primary Meeting Location: Munford’s in Calabogie at 9:30am
Given the length of the trail, we will forego the usual meeting spot in Bells Corners and meet at Munford’s in Calabogie at the intersection of Highways 508 and 511.
We will be leaving Munford’s no later than 10:00am.
Tow Points are mandatory for this trail. A lift and 33″ or larger tires is recommended for this trail.
Please come to the meeting location fully fuelled and ready to roll.
This is a members only run. If you wish to invite a non-member, please contact the trail leader to confirm that this event is suitable for your guest.
Please tune your CB to channel 4. No CB? Bring your FRS radio tuned to channel 4.
Please note, that should the group choose to split, one group will remain on channel 4, the other will move to channel 16.
Remember to bring a lunch, plenty of water, boots, cameras and your sense of adventure. It is also recommended that you carry a tow strap and some shackles as basic extraction equipment.
Since this trail is long, and can take a full day, it is recommended you bring extra food, just in case, and they are forecasting hot weather, so bring extra water as well.
